MEMBERSHIP

The National Leased Housing Association (NLHA) was formed in 1972 to represent the interests of both public and private sector organizations involved in federally assisted rental housing programs. NLHA’s current focus includes:

  • Preservation of the Section 8 inventory
  • Reinforcing the Essential Role of PHAs in administering the voucher program
  • Promoting the vital role of assisted housing managers
  • Expanding development using the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit
  • Supporting other current development programs including the Project-Based Voucher program

NLHA Serves its Members by:

Representing Your Interests

NLHA assures representation in government decisions by analyzing pertinent data, informs and consults with members and then vigorously represents their interests as a respected and effective advocate before congressional committees and in individual meetings with key Members of Congress and their staffs, HUD, OMB and Treasury officials.

Keeping You Informed

With NLHA’s carefully conceived and executed communications and information program, our members are the best-informed people in the industry. Members are kept up to date through a monthly newsletter, the BULLETIN that provides in depth analysis of legislative and administrative developments. Members also receive special mailings and electronic communications on as legislation is being drafted or policy is being made in time to take effective action to protect their interests.

Sponsoring Seminars and Meetings

NLHA hosts two seminars and two members-only meetings each year focusing on housing management, voucher administration, ownership strategies, development opportunities and a myriad of programmatic concerns.

Fostering Member Participation

NLHA’s diverse and unique membership fosters ongoing business relationships among profit and nonprofit developers, managers, investment bankers, syndicators, and public entities. This relationship extends into active participation in NLHA’s standing committees.
